The Cloven Foot and Chewing of the Cud

The Cloven Foot and Chewing of the Cud (Click for Voice of The Bible Poet)

Walk in the way of the Lord and meditate on His Word

To an unbeliever it may sound absurd.

The clean animals, a cloven foot and chew the cud

Illustrates the Christian to stay clear of crud.

The chewing of the cud means meditate long;

The Word of the LORD in Scripture and song.

The Cloven Foot is the peculiar walk

Our definite character and how we talk.

Meditate on Scripture, digest it slow.

That is our role, our daily walk, you know.

Christ is the door to perfect liberty.

The sacrifice, the substitute, the perfect one set me free.

The chewing of the cud and the definite walk

The Word of the LORD; illustrates the talk.

That is the joy; to chew the cud

And walk his way to avoid the mud.

It comes out in the sacrifices; it comes out in rhyme;

Vivid images of Christ though His Word in time.
