Mary Had a Little Lamb: The Gospel Shines Through

Mary Had a Little Lamb: The Gospel Shines Through

By David Smith June 28, 2010

Mary had a little Lamb, sinless without spot.

It followed the Word wherever it went

The Lamb, God’s gift, was taught.

The Lamb of God, obedience to the Word, sacrificed on a hill.

It made the world rejoice for a time, and prophesy had a thrill.

The believers stepped forward in faith and knew thy word is true

The shepherds and sheep were scattered abroad

And second birth became so new.

God’s Word fit together in a world without end.

Prophetic Statements came clear;

The Lamb of God, forgiveness of sins; His work we hold so dear

The Gospel revealed, did not come by surprise;

Mary knew she needed a savior;

The Lamb was slain, forgiveness came

The Lord’s sweat smelling savor;

Mary found the Lamb of God

That made her white as snow

And everywhere that Mary went

God’s Word was sure to go.

When I see the blood I will pass over you;

That is the Passover, in Exodus so true;

When I see the cross; the blood and the pain;

Believe in the LORD; and worship in His name.

Save poor sinners; ‘cause they need to be saved;

Believe in His name, or eternal hell in a grave;

Psalm Sixty nine the bitter cry of the LORD;

The suffering Saviour, a price only blood can afford;

He was wounded for our transgressions;

With his stripes we are healed;

Believe in the LORD a relationship is sealed;

The books of the Bible; some called by name;

Verses and chapters; my sin is to blame.

That’s what I got out of the meeting tonight.

A relationship with Christ secure and right.

Will you be ready? Between you and the LORD;

The Cross is the answer, Salvation we can afford.

The Bugle Cry

The Bugle Cry

By David Smith June 26, 2010

Eyes fill with tears to hear the sound;

The bugle cry from all around;

The cold tombstones, the shiver up the spine;

Life is taken in a war that we find.

The sting of death, from a bugle, the call;

The emptiness, the vacuum, like an echoing hall;

Feeling the emotion, of soldiers in their prime;

The loss of life; where to find peace of mind?

To know life lives after death, reveille is heard;

A wakeup call; new life reassured;

Being born again of incorruptible seed;

To have Christ within, he paid the deed.

O what a joy to have sins forgiven;

My sinful nature, through Christ to be liven;

The comforter, the Holy Spirit, to not be alone

The finished work of the Cross; my redeemer, to own

Text: Eph 5:22 to 33 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. Husbands love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it: That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word. That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing: but that it should be holy and without blemish. So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh: but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: for we are members of his body of his flesh, and of his bones. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. Nevertheless, let every one of you in particular, so love his wife even as himself: and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

To talk of marriage between Christ and the Church

Through trials and difficulties, the endurance we search.

The Word of the Lord, relationship with Christ;

That is the gold that is all so nice.

Listening to chapters and relationship above

Unwavering care of our Saviour with Love;

Copy that commitment for relationship on earth

Is only possible in the second birth;

To have Christ within; He will carry you through

Let go, and let God, is all we can do.

And that’s the advice I heard tonight;

Christ did it all;

His finished work will suffice.
