The Master Pruner

The Master Pruner

Scripture text

Matthew 7: 18, 19, 20 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit: but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Hebrews 4: 12 For the word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

As God wants to mould me and shape me to mend

Closer to Jesus by His Word he did sent.

He gave a wife to hit heads with all day

To realize the Value, the power to pray

With painful jabs, God’s Holy Word

Piercing the heart so wicked and reserved

To point out the stubbornness to let in the light

The joy of a Christian with a restless night

The master pruner, with knife in his hand

A two edged sword on God’s word that I stand

Far from the truth and out in left field

By faith alone; to God’s way that I yield

And every day; change appears so slow

Through cutting and whittling, the Pruner to know;

He is the surgeon to bring me closer to the Cross

Sacrificed His Begotten Son; that I might not be lost.

O what joy as I hurt in his hand;

As he guides me and prunes me; for His Promised Land.

Text: Eph 5:22 to 33 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. Husbands love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it: That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word. That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing: but that it should be holy and without blemish. So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh: but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: for we are members of his body of his flesh, and of his bones. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. Nevertheless, let every one of you in particular, so love his wife even as himself: and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

To talk of marriage between Christ and the Church

Through trials and difficulties, the endurance we search.

The Word of the Lord, relationship with Christ;

That is the gold that is all so nice.

Listening to chapters and relationship above

Unwavering care of our Saviour with Love;

Copy that commitment for relationship on earth

Is only possible in the second birth;

To have Christ within; He will carry you through

Let go, and let God, is all we can do.

And that’s the advice I heard tonight;

Christ did it all;

His finished work will suffice.
